FINALLY got tayboy to come run with me! Prolly because it wasnt until like 1 in the afternoon but hey. So..ive had a goal in mind since before summer training to run up this trail in coral canyon called Mount Everest (aka cardiac arrest) its super duper steep + few switchbacks, but have always been a little weary of the idea. So as we passed the trail head today i told taylor my little goal and said i was planning on doing it sometime this week and she said "well why not today?" so we did! it was difficult but not as lengthy as i expected. Boyer hauled it while i did my best to keep up. Felt good to kick off 2014 by accomplishing what seemed like an impossible goal at the time of setting it.

went for a nice little run with the famdam. (adam, nat and momma) quite the little work out. Ran down mt. everest trail then through coral canyon to the water tower. Not only was this trail steeper than mt. everest but it was longer too. But it was a fun challenging trail. If you need me ill be rolling and stretching my legs for the next two days. :)

4ish miles. Harts warm/cool 2x1000 on track. My trimes were supposed to be 6:30 ..and I don't remember my times..😁 but I know that they were lot faster like round 5:40.  I felt like my pace was strong but not all out. Like a moderate jog.

Trail run! Way fun! I thought heading back would be killer cause the first 1.5 mile was pretty easy and all downhill..but the back half wasn't too bad..and I didn't fall at all so that was good(: I'm feeling great! I'm prolly in the best shape I've been in my whole life. No joke. Runs are still hard but I recover faster and enjoy them more :)

3x1000 I was gone last week for the kosmin test so I don't have my new mile time so I just shot for 5:40 again but the clock wasn't working and I didn't have a watch. So I wasn't able to pace myself. Times were 5:15, 5:23, 5:57. Not very consecutive..I'm sure I could have done better with a watch or somethin. I kinda wanna just take this kosmin test thingy tho so I know what pace I'm really supposed to be going.

So supposed to do 2x800 on old man hill...but Anna and I had no idea where to go so..we guessed. It felt like we went between 4-5 miles so...that was an adventure.

Did lots better today! I decided to try for 5:30 on my 1000 cause that was sprta kinda my average last week..still haven't taken the kosmin so dunno what my pace really should be. But I went 5:30, 5:38, 5:35, 5:42. The beginning of my last one was really slow but by the end I think I could have pushed harder.  Very thankful for  no school..I decided I like running in the morning way better than the afternoon😁

4x1000! Got bumped up to 87% so goal time was 5:23. Times were 5:20, 5:21, 5:20, 5:15. Felt super good today which was odd cause I haven't ran in a week and felt pretty cruddy all day. I really tried to stay on pace today but for some odd reason my legs went a little faster then supposed to. I think that's a good thing.. I really really enjoy doing  1000. They are by far my favorite workout :) specially cause I can feel myself getting better and better(:

Boy oh boy it feels like I haven't ran in a month or something crazy like that. I would say it feels good to be back run I but today was sorta a kick in the butt. But hopefully It will no take long to get back in the swing of things! 2x1000 times 5:28 and 6:06. I believe that last is my slowest time since like Xc season😳  my mental game was holding me back..so I'll try better next week!!

Easy 3 with (half) of striders..and we missed weights cause with the decathlon I didn't realize everyone went to go do them. Tried the high jump and was awful and in the hurdles I beat Mia! Prolly best part of my day ;)

Am-first morning practice ever! 3 with Anna. 

pm- 3 again. Felt very sluggish..my right leg has been killing all day so Ill for sure ice and roll my legs reallll nice. For the decathlon we did long jump and 200...sadly Mia beat me at long jump by a fair amount. All I want in life is to beat her! Is that too much to ask? ;)

First kosmin test for me today! Im glad I finally got to do it so my workouts can be more productive. I got 1008. I felt like i could have done better..but of course this is the recovered self talking and not the mid-workout self. Not only did legs felt pretty tight (like they have the past two days) i could feel myself holding back a little because of it. so hopefully after rolling and stretching real well for a few days it will subside.

So far I believe this is my longest distance in one run! Nice trail around coral canyon. Lots of hills but it felt really good! Legs felt  nice and loose! So that's an improvement :)

Well today pretty much sucked. My kosmin time kinda freaked me out..it predicted at 6:12 mile which is pretty speedy seeing how last time I ran a times mile I got a 8:40... So for 1000 I'm wanting to hit 4:35 which again is crazy. If you would have told me last week that in 7 days my time would move from 5:23 to 4:35 I prolly would have called you crazy and never have talked to you again fearing that you are insane. So for the first one we stayed in a nice little pack and I was able to push myself and got a 4:45. Crazy right?  Well the second one was lots harder cause half our pack gave up. Next one I got 5:00..still pretty good cause that's like 23 faster  than I was going just last week. Well here comes that third one and I felt like poop and got like 6:something cause I was so tired I didn't get my exact time. After that I was just do mad at myself for not making my time and broke down..kinda a roller coaster today. Some of my best and worse times ever and I'm not really sure how to handle it quite yet. That's all. Weights after.

well they didnt give us times so ill re-update when i find out what my times were! 

1600- felt really good for first 800 passed lots of girls and stayed in front of them for remainder of time. On the 3rd lap the wind was expecially horrid and I was pretty tired by the last lap. Still overall i didnt really feel like i was racing all that much. kinda felt like a harder workout.

800- again this one felt like another workout. the wind was so super awful so it kinda worries me to get my time on this one because i have such a high goal for it this season im a little frightened to compare the two times. But it was just the first meet, super windy and it was more of a workout pace..so we will see :)

400- Wasnt excited to race this at all..and i almost didnt because a girl took my lane. But luckly for me they had room in the last heat so the stuck me in that one.

Back from spring break! im slightly angry at myself for not attending practice all last week but not really much i can do about it now other than to get my butt to practice everyday and work as hard as i can. 4x1000..i was scared for this workout cause last time i did it i didnt finish and almost had a melt down because of how awful i was doing. BUT my times did improve from last time even though i still wasnt hitting my times. Goal-4:50 Times- 4:53, 5:33, 5:35, 5:30. Im rather impressed that we did all four cause anna really wanted to stop after 2 but i talked her into finishing out the workout with me so that is good :) weights after.

Pm- 4 with striders. Tried my very best to stay up with a group and did a pretty decent job for first 2 miles. Then fell behind during striders and the last two miles back. It was kinda cool to push myself today and even though I wasn't up with the main pack for most the run I still didn't fall very far behind so it was sorta neat to see how far I've come and that I can push myself :)

Great race at hurricane! Weather was pretty good! I took out the first lap pretty fast..only 2 seconds slower than my 400 time so that affected the rest of my race..but in the end I still dropped 17 seconds from the race 2 weeks ago so that's cool(:

Am- 3 miles. I want to start running with top girls during easy runs so when we do those I'm gunna try to stay with them. So this morning I stayed up with Ali Mia and Liz for the first mile! 

Pm- 4 w/striders. River/Sullivan park route. Again I stayed up with the main pack of girls for just over a mile I believe. Then we did striders and played in the water for a bit(: the way back usually takes forever but I just kinda went my own pace. Felt lots shorter than the way there which is odd

Am- workout in the morning cause we had region choir after school. So 4x400 and mile warm/cool. My goal was 1:50 and I went :38, :43, :41, :45. So stayed below the goal. Pretty neat to see that we are actually can be a lot faster than we think we are...so that's always neat

Felt alright about the race. I was so super nervous about it so I was kinda stressed. And about 20 mins before my race I remembered that I hadn't are anything all day so that was fun... I know it wasn't my best so I'll be excited to race it again and try better. My goal is to qualify for byu in this race which is rather ambitious I know. So it's a little scary but it's also motivating to try harder in workouts!

Jv snow canyon track meet

welp i dunno my times cause they didnt post them anywhere...so thats cool.

1600- felt alright. by my 3rd lap i had a nice little split going so if i kept up my pace i should have a new pr. I didn't really race this thought..just kinda felt like a workout and whatevs.

400- I was placed right next to macy so i figured she would just leave me in the dust but we stayed together for most of the race then on the last turn she pulled ahead a bit. My brain tried to tell my body to go faster and catch up with her and it responded..but as soon as i started closing the gap between us i got a little scared and pulled back. I ended up finishing prolly around a second after her..give or take. I look back on it now and realize how stupid that was and i should have just gone for it..but hey.. we learn from our mistakes right? :)

Holy wind! The two miles up into green springs were pure death! pretty sure. We took forever running up but the way back was good! 2 rounds of whatchamacallit. (2m hard, 1m easy, 1m hard, 30s easy, 30s hard)

4 easy with 4x200 after. Anna and i did actually pretty well at keeping up! we stayed not so far behind for the first 2ish miles then feel a bit behind..but we stayed only like 50 meters behind irene the whole time so we are improving. I can feel a difference when we run..our pace just keeps getting quicker and the distance between us and the other girls shorter! Watch out...soon enough we will not be rounding up the pack ;)

800- my goal was to stay up with Irene..and I know that you aren't supposed to measure yourself by other people but when you always come last on the team it kinda seems like a nice idea to not be last sometimes. PANTHER RELAYS

Well did was fun! I started thinking that I wasn't going to do a race cause I didn't think I would find enough girls to run with me..but I did! Distance medley (400), 4x200, 4x800, 4x400. I'm such a good little track athlete (: 

my quads started hurting really bad during warm up with sharp pains shooting up my leg with every step. So that was not enjoyable. Def hurt my racing.

Warm up was fine for the first half then coming back ankle started killing real bad. so i wasnt able to do workout so just jogged around track to get in some milage.. i tried to push through the pain and do striders but only got in 4 of those before i realized that it was just going to make it worse. weights after..couldnt do plyos.
